During training we often have doubts that are sometimes difficult to resolve:<\/p>\n
Are we sure that our dog is using his nose to follow the scent of the runner? Or does he try to use his eyes to search?<\/p>\n
Or he just runs to see if he\u2019s lucky and finds the runner? Or does he run because we inadvertedly push him running behind?<\/p>\n
Are we able to detect when our dog is distracted? Or when he loses the scent and starts searching for it?<\/p>\n
Does our dog enjoy trailing? How can we know?<\/p>\n
Is our dog trailing slowly because he is unmotivated or simply because he does not understand what is expected of him?<\/p>\n
Or maybe he feels unsafe and not comfortable at the start, during, or at the end of the trail?<\/p>\n
Are we helping our dog without realizing it? How can we know?<\/p>\n
