About Course

One of the pillars of the Kocher Method is Component Training.

But what does this actually mean?

Components are the challenges a dog may encounter during a trail. Depending on how we expose the dog to these challenges and how they overcome them, our dog will gain self-confidence while being prepared to face everyday challenges or real-life service situations where they’ll need to work (if they are an operational dog).

These are some of the topics we cover in this webinar:

  • What is a component?
  • Deconstructing the trail.
  • Components: What are they?
  • Splitting vs. Lumping in canine training.
  • Types of components.
  • Component training: What is it? Why do it?
  • Double reward components.
  • Observing the dog.
  • How to prepare a component. The Door ID.
