Acerca de este curso

LIVE the 12 June 2026 at 8,00 pm (cet)

I often see people who, if they believe the dog is not following the trail or if they see it struggling, simply put the dog back in the car without first checking whether they are right (and the dog is not following the trail) and whether they have done everything possible to help the dog if it has lost the track.

Observation is one of the keys for a mantrailing handler, essential for understanding what is happening.

But it is also important to have the tools to know what to do if the dog encounters a problem while following the trail.

Before putting the dog back in the car because we think it is lost… Are we sure we have done everything possible in our training to help it find, follow and recover (with our help if necessary) the trail?

Knowing how to read your dog; knowing how to do a casting to find the trail or to recover it if it’s been lost; knowing how to ask your dog to check a path, street or area you think it hasn’t checked yet…

All these are skills that every good mantrailing handler must train to truly be part of the TEAM.

Whether you train to become operational or to pass a test/certification, or if you practise mantrailing as a leisure activity, one of your training goals should be to prepare yourself well so you can help your dog do what you have trained it for: following scent.

In this one-hour webinar, we will talk about all this. There will also be time for your questions.
